Vishwas Parchure
Vishwas is one of the pioneers in the application of experiential education in the country and brings close to three decades of professional experience in this field. He underwent training at the Brathay Hall Trust, UK; Outward Bound and Project Adventure, USA, in facilitating experiential learning programs and technical skills.

Pranesh is a rock climber at heart and has coached the Indian climbing team. He is a faculty member at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), USA, and is a trained and certified wilderness first aider from Wilderness Medicine Institute, USA.
   

 

Sunanda Surendranath

With a passion for education through non-traditional means and settings, Sunanda has over 25 years of experience in the field of formal & non-formal education. She has experience in facilitating both in-class and outdoor education programs and has worked with numerous educational institutions and training organizations within India, the UK and the USA.

After receiving training in Montessori Education and methodologies from The Montessori School of New York, Sunanda started her career teaching preschooler and elementary school students. She applied and experimented with different methodologies to teach her learners, which included activity based learning, thematic and project based approaches as well as Montessori methodsto facilitate meaningful experiences. She earned her basic mountaineering certification from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi and is a life-skills experiential facilitator who has taught in both formalized school settings and in the wilderness. She works as a creative curriculum content developer for academic and life skill programs on the Explorers Outdoor Ed. team and is a seed team member.

Madhu Sudan G.

Madhu is passionate about creating meaningful outdoor learning experiences that can help children develop and grow. He has worked with and taught in outdoor organizations, NGOs and in the social sector in India and the USA. Madhu has completed his training at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) USA. He is a certified 'wilderness first responder' from Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI), USA.

Before launching Explorers Outdoor Ed., Madhu worked as a faculty at NOLS (USA). He has led several expeditions in the Himalayas and has extensive experience in setting up and running the ropes course. Madhu received the Rastrapathi (President's) Award and Rajyapurskar (Governor's) Award in scouting. He has attended a workshop on Multiple Intelligences conducted by Project Zero, a unit of Harvard University. Madhu is zealous about incorporating multiple intelligences in experiential learning programs to draw out the highest potential in each child.

Anitha Shankar

Anitha is an adventurer at heart. She has a fascination for the outdoors and has, on more than one occasion, tasted the thrill of activities like bungee jumping, paragliding, skydiving and swimming with the dolphins. She has been a part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and is an experienced trekker, an amateur rock climber and a seasoned marathon runner.

She is an ardent endurance race participant, an experienced trekker, an amateur rock climber and a seasoned marathon runner. As part of National Cadet Corps (NCC), she won a gold medal in Shooting and represented Karnataka in the Republic Day parade. She completed an MBA Degree from TA PAI University in Manipal and launched into a career in the software industry as an ERP Sales Consultant in Bangalore. From there she moved on to be an Account Manager in New Zealand. Her love for the outdoors finally saw her leaving the software industry behind when she joined Youreka, the outdoor division at iDiscoveri, as the head of marketing in Mumbai and later went back into the wilderness for a course in Mountaineering from NOLS. She now works as the marketing head at the Explorers Outdoor Ed.

Ravi Kumar

Ravi brings over 30 years of experience in rock climbing, mountaineering, teaching in the outdoors, facilitating & leading courses in the wilderness. He is a wealth of knowledge in instructing, supervising and program management in the outdoors. Ravi has worked extensively in India, USA & Canada and is currently heading National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), India. He is also serving as a senior faculty at NOLS, USA and at Wilderness Medicine Institute, USA.

Ravi has successfully completed 17 mountaineering expeditions scaling peaks between 20,000 ft. to 25,447 ft. in the Indian Himalayas with mountaineers from Japan, Austria, Poland, France, Britain and Thailand. The highest summit he has scaled till date is Kamet in the Indian Himalayas at 25,447 ft. and Eldorado in North Cascades, USA.

Ashish Vavilikonalu

With an engineering background, Ashish is a biker at heart. Travel has been his passion and a teacher that has exposed him to the many facets of India's terrain and culture. He loves adventure sports and is an advocate of Outdoor education. A member of the Young Orators Club, he is an adept public speaker. Through his work at Lamakaan, an open cultural space in Hyderabad, he has organized various cultural activities like theater, music concerts, debates, dialogues & more. His other interests are photography, innovative roof gardening and creative waste recycling. He currently works with the Sales and Marketing team at Explorers at Hyderabad.
